UD football tabbed No. 5 in Stats Perform FCS Preseason Top 25 poll

From bluehens.com:

CHICAGO, Ill. - With less than a month to go before its season opener, the Blue Hens continue to rack up preseason accolades after a run in the FCS Playoffs this past spring. Delaware is ranked No. 5 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll that was released on Monday.

The Blue Hens, who were voted to finish second in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA), return a plethora of experienced players. Delaware placed three players on the Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America squad with offensive lineman David Kroll, running back Dejoun Lee and safety Kedrick Whitehead all earning accolades.

Delaware opens its fall slate on the road at Maine on Sept. 2.

A national media panel selects the Stats Perform FCS Top 25. A first-place vote is worth 25 points, a second-place vote 24 points, all the way down to one point for a 25th-place vote.
